When I was 10, I saw
my first episode of Law & Order, SVU
a woman screamed
and her pretty pink dress ripped
the scene cut to black but then
she sat in a station
hair mussed and mascara running
and she seemed broken
and empty
and that’s when I began to prepare
for the inevitable.
People that straight up believe sex offenders/murderers should received the death penalty, I put this to you…
If someone you know and love was raped/murdered would you really be satisfied that it’s ‘justice’ to put their innocent family through what you’re going through? And immediately eradicate any guilt that the perpetrator could later feel and give them a way out? OR, would you rather know that they have to spend the rest of their life in a cell, terrified of what may happen to them the following day, having nothing to do but reflect on what they’ve done? An eye for an eye is a ridiculous mentality and so is giving someone a way to escape the repercussions of their actions. People should be permanently locked up, not given the easy option of death. The only problem is segregating criminals for THEIR protection from other inmates, that’s the injustice.
this is so true. The death penalty only works if you believe in life after death. Considering there should be a separation of church and state, the idea of a heaven and hell shouldn’t play into the decisions in a court.
I don’t believe in life after death. The death penalty is the easy way out for them. Instead of a life rotting away in a jail cell, they escape it all
